Best of UK and Destination Wedding Photography 2022
2022, a Year in Review!
As we enter into 2023 and depart from 2022 I can’t help but sit and reminisce over a year that has held so many experiences, challenges, delights, and both personal and professional growth.
We spent many weeks out of country this year, and in combination with the many post-covid rearrangements we are super happy about how many couples we have been able to accommodate in a difficult calendar.
In total we spent over 60 days out of the country while shooting destination weddings across Washington, Jamaica, France, Italy, Denmark, California, Nevada, and Kenya.
It’s been nuts!
We’ve seen pool-parties, sunsets, castles, villas, barns, zebras, champagne showers, national parks, and even more this year. We’ve enjoyed seeing happy faces from clients and friends, and had some incredible experiences all the way from January to December.
It’s funny how strong so many of these memories are, but at the same time how quickly they have disappeared into the past. Looking at shots from Joe and Harriett in France, or even Lucy and Dalton in Jamaica feels like an age ago - but I suppose that is what happens when you have so much happening, and so many major events going on!
Going back through the images from this year in order to put together some of my favourites for a ‘Best of 2022’ post has been a really lovely experience to remind us of how many incredible couples we shot for, and all the wonderful places we have been able to visit. The only thing I’m sad about is that I can’t seem to work out a way to show off all the images all the time.
I’m super happy with the quality of our work this year, it’s really going from strength to strength, and we are thrilled to continue receiving such lovely words and recommendations from all our couples that we have worked with this year. It’s a true honour and a pleasure to be able to attend and record these memories for all you beautiful folks, and it thrills me to bits to hear back from you when it all comes together with a delivery after the big day.
Big Love x

Personal
Those who have been following us on instagram will perhaps be aware of a few things that we’ve been up to this year!
First: We sold out house at the end of 2021, but our purchase unfortunately fell through and we were forced to rent for the first half of the year . All the gear went into storage and I started hot desking at Abigail’s workplace until we were able to sort out another solution.
Second: We bought a house! We’ve now moved from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and we have a lovely new home in Hathern near Loughborough. We moved in June, but as a result of our heavy schedule it’s only been in the last couple of weeks that we’ve finally emptied the boxes that have filled the house for the previous 6 months!
Third: Over summer we somehow squeezed in enough time to dig up, and replace two patios, shift over 10 tonnes of gravel in to the back garden, and build a new office for the coming year.
Fourth: We got engaged! After the wedding in Vegas, we travelled up to Yosemite to spend some time with friends and after a long hike to the top of Half Dome I asked Abigail if she would tie the knot with me . Fortunately she said yes and we’re now planning for a wedding of our own in 2024!
Fifth: Abigail is going full time with the wedding planning and coordination side of the business in 2023! We’ve shot many weddings this year and in the past with some degree of involvement in the ‘running’ of the day, but now it is becoming a proper full time job for us! So if you’re keen to see what we can offer, and are planning an event for the coming years then please click on that ‘planning’ link up top and drop us a line!!!!
Half Dome
I’m sure I’ll type up a proper post about this at some point, but I couldn’t end out this year review without just a couple of pictures from our engagement at the top of Half Dome.
Credit for the camerawork goes to our good friend Jess who hiked up there with us and I thoroughly sprang the surprise on her as much as Abigail. She held it together commendably and we’ll be forever thankful for the images she captured.
