Caswell House Wedding, Cotswolds // Shannon and Ryan

If you’re planning a wedding at Caswell House in the Cotswolds, you’ll love this one!

Shannon and Ryan got married at Caswell House, which is a beautiful barn in the Cotswolds with a pretty fabulous walled garden. It was one of the most fun weddings I shot last year, and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!

S&R got in touch with me after I shot Shannon's sister's wedding a few years ago. It’s always great to receive enquiries from previous weddings because we get so close to the whole family and it’s lovely to see them all again.

When we first spoke with them, they said that they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I was super on board with their plans to party on down in a gorgeous location with their friends. I love working for people who have a really strong vision for their day, and that have put the effort into making it come true. Despite the rain throughout the day neither of them allowed it to get them down - just check out those smiles!

The Styling and Details

Shannon wore a stunning princess style wedding dress and Ryan wore a navy suit. They looked amazing set against the modern rustic backdrop of the venue. The styling was timeless classic with eucalyptus and white roses providing greens and whites throughout. The cake showed the stages of their relationship from early days to the wedding, and the bridesmaids dresses complimented the whole event perfectly.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service, closed out with Shannon's sister Lauren singing over harp music as their signed the register. During the ceremony their rings were delivered by their incredible chihuahua Susie. She might have dropped them halfway down, but it’s all about the effort really!

Why Caswell House is a great place to get married

Caswell House is really peaceful and secluded, and is one of the best places to get married in the Cotswolds. The venue offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding – and there is a gorgeous side garden that is perfect for photos. The original stone brick walls really ground the building in the landscape, but the bridal suite is perfectly modern and set up for morning preparations. The staff are also complete legends, and really go out of their way to keep the day meeting the high expectations that the venue promises - just check out the double umbrella holding action as Shannon made her way to the ceremony!

The Reception

The couple had an awesome champagne reception in the afternoon, and a live band in the evening. One of my favourite bits from the wedding was the 'singing waiters' who mixed it up with some big tunes and were super on board with sharing the stage with a couple of the guests who perform in the West End. For dinner they had proper wedding grub with beef cooked to perfection, and the first dance was an absolute banger - shortly followed by a full dancefloor of wicked shapes.

They finished off the evening with a kiss on the Caswell House bridge under the moonlight.
