Halloween Couple's Shoot // Yosemite Valley

I’ve wanted to do a Halloween themed couples shoot for just about as long as I have been shooting weddings, so when we were walking around in a an American supermarket a few weeks ago and was some humungous pumpkins I knew the time was right to put it together!
There’s not much ‘planned’ about this shoot - we bought super cheap makeup from the same store and it didn't cover at all, so we spent forever trying to make it work along with some eye liner from Jess’ day bag as the black paint just didn’t want to work at all.
The pumpkins were carved by myself and Oli that morning for our rest activity between hikes, and we headed out later that day to paddle in the river and recover after hiking up to glacier point the day before.
By the time we finally had some makeup sorted it was practically night-time in the valley, and I didn't have any flashes or lights... so we had to use phone torches to create a little bit of atmosphere 😁. If it looks like it was pretty much pitch black in the shots further down… that’s because it was!
Thanks to Jess and Oli for putting up with my nonsense and hanging out under the stars. Thanks also to Leanne for 'letting' us use her wilting wedding bouquet from the week before in Vegas for the shoot!
