Tucked away in the rolling countryside of southwest France, Le Relais de Roquefereau feels less like a traditional wedding venue and more like a private escape.
From a photography point of view, the Relais de Roquefereau is incredibly rewarding. Think classic French farmhouse details, warm stone walls, open views across the valley, and sunsets that feel almost cinematic. When Hannah and Jamie were married here, we made the most of that evening light, slipping away for sunset portraits that remain some of my all-time favourites. The space gives you room to breathe, to wander, and to create images amongst the gardens and the indoor spaces that are simply to die for.
That sense of space also makes it ideal for documentary style photography. Guests naturally find quiet corners to talk, laugh, be present, and to enjoy the day without feeling constantly observed. It feels personal, relaxed, and bespoke.
Part of what makes the Relais so special is its sense of seclusion. It does take a little while to get there, winding through countryside roads and leaving the everyday behind, but that journey is part of the charm. Once you arrive, it genuinely feels like you’re in your own world – a peaceful oasis that’s perfect for couples wanting a private, immersive wedding weekend with their closest people.
Whether your celebration is intimate or lively, spread across a full weekend or centred on a single day, Le Relais de Roquefereau adapts beautifully. For couples dreaming of a French countryside wedding that feels authentic, relaxed, and reminiscent of a rustic summer holiday, it’s a truly special place. And if you’re planning a wedding here – or somewhere similar – and want honest, documentary images that reflect the day as it really felt, we’d love to hear from you.
Big Love,
A&A
