Warm light, salt air, and celebrations that stretch across days

There is something about the Caribbean that does something to people. The moment the warmth hits and the pace shifts — the island rhythm takes over, and suddenly the wedding isn't just a day, it's a week. Friends who haven't seen each other in years are swimming together by lunchtime. Family members who might have nodded politely at a hotel bar somewhere are dancing on a clifftop at midnight. That is what a Caribbean wedding does, and it is why the couples who choose it tend to be a particular kind of wonderful.

We have been lucky enough to shoot celebrations here across Jamaica and Antigua — from clifftop castles above the turquoise sea to intimate beach ceremonies outside private villas. What unites every one of them is that quality of light (that golden Caribbean late afternoon light is genuinely unlike anywhere else in the world), and the feeling that everyone present has made a conscious choice to be there. No one flies to Jamaica by accident. Every guest has invested in the celebration, and it shows.

Our approach — documentary, unhurried, people-first — suits Caribbean weddings particularly well. When the day is already this relaxed, our job is simply to follow it. The smiles come easily, the light does the work, and the moments tend to find us. We are very comfortable working across the islands, and we arrive early to scout the light and get to know the landscape before the wedding day itself.

It rained. Properly, dramatically, tropically rained — the kind of downpour that makes you briefly question everything. And then, as though on cue, it stopped. The sky cleared, the stone dried in the sun, and Lucy and Dalton's wedding at Pattoo Castle became exactly what it was always going to be: one of the most joyful days we have ever photographed.

Pattoo Castle sits on the cliffs above the sea on Jamaica's north coast — a venue so quietly extraordinary that it barely needs a wedding in it to be worth photographing. Lucy, who is British, and Dalton, who is Jamaican, had filled it with family and friends who were — in the truest sense — their people. The ceremony was held on the walkway leading up to the castle, and Lucy came down it the way Lucy does most things: dancing, with her dad beside her. They handfasted. People cried. The sun came out properly and stayed.

By the golden hour, we were on top of the castle, the sea spreading out below, the light doing everything. The party that followed had that particular energy that only happens when everyone in the room genuinely loves each other. We have shot a lot of weddings. Pattoo stays with us.

Some weddings feel like a gathering of people who have known each other forever. Ellie and Tyler's Antigua wedding was exactly that — thirty guests who had all flown out for the week, the kind of group that already feels like a community before the ceremony even begins.

The day before, we drove up to Shirley Heights above Nelson's Dockyard as the late afternoon light fell across the harbour below — one of those couple shoots that almost doesn't feel like work, because the location does so much for you. On the wedding day itself, Ellie and Tyler married on the beach outside their private rental home, with a friend standing in as celebrant. Palm trees. Sand. Sun. A circle of people who had chosen to be there completely. It was as uncomplicated and as lovely as that sounds.

We have stayed in touch with many of the guests from that week — people we have since photographed at celebrations in other countries entirely. That, more than anything, tells you what kind of wedding it was.

A phone or video call is the best way for us to get to know you, and to understand your vision. We have worked with many couples over the years, and we're proud to say that we have a lasting relationship with many of them.

Your wedding photographer is someone that is with you from the start to end of one of the most important experiences of your life, so it makes sense to build that relationship right from the start. Every destination wedding and elopement is different, so once we have a good idea for your vision we will provide a tailored quote for your plans.

From then on, we'll be in regular touch right up until the big day, providing support and input wherever you need it.

Settle down with a glass of wine, and let's get to know one another.

FAQs

Do you travel to all Caribbean islands?

Yes — we are happy to travel anywhere across the Caribbean. We have shot in Jamaica and Antigua, and we are very open to new islands and new venues. Wherever you are planning to celebrate, get in touch and we can talk through the details.

What is the best time of year for a Caribbean wedding?

The dry season runs from December through April and is generally considered the best window — reliably sunny, lower humidity, and beautiful light throughout the day. That said, the Caribbean can be generous outside those months too, and we have shot wonderful weddings across different times of year. We would always recommend building in a small buffer of time before the ceremony to account for any changes in the weather.

How do you handle travel and logistics?

We take care of all our own travel arrangements and build that into the planning process well in advance. Travel costs are included in your destination package quote. For every destination wedding we do, we arrive early — before the wedding day itself — to scout the venue, understand the light, and get to know the landscape properly before the day begins.

Can you include a pre-wedding shoot while we are there?

Absolutely, and we would always encourage it. A pre-wedding shoot gives you time together in front of the camera in a relaxed setting before the wedding day itself, which makes a real difference to how natural and comfortable you both feel when it matters most. It also gives us the chance to find the best light and locations on the island. Shirley Heights above Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua is one of our favourite spots anywhere in the world for exactly this.

Do you work with local planners and vendors?

Yes — we are comfortable working alongside local planners, celebrants, and suppliers, and we are happy to share recommendations where we have them. If you are in the early stages of planning and would like any guidance on who to speak to, just ask.
